    Inspiration Stables is seeking a dedicated Adaptive Horse-Riding Program Coordinator with strong expertise in equine management to lead our program. This role emphasizes the fitness, health, and training of horses while also serving as the lead instructor for adaptive riding lessons. The manager will ensure that our horses are well-prepared, safe, and thriving, while building a program that supports riders of all abilities.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Equine Health & Fitness

  • Develop and oversee conditioning programs tailored to each horse’s role in adaptive riding.

  • Monitor horse health daily, coordinating veterinary, farrier, and dental care.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Maintain detailed records of horse fitness, nutrition, and medical treatments.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Evaluate horses for suitability in adaptive riding and manage transitions when needed.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Horse Training & Readiness

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Implement training routines to keep horses responsive, calm, and adaptable to diverse rider needs.

  • Introduce new horses to the program and ensure proper acclimation.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Work with volunteers and staff to reinforce consistent handling practices.

  • Instructional Leadership

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Serve as lead instructor for adaptive riding sessions.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Ensure lesson plans align with horse readiness and rider safety.

  • Train assistant instructors and volunteers in equine handling and adaptive lesson delivery.

  • Directly responsible for the safety and welfare of all riders, horses, and volunteers during all phases of riding lessons (pre-lesson, during, and post-lesson).

  • Inspiration Stables subscribes to the Hoof Falls and Footfalls certification program. All instructors must work towards this certification.

  • Program Oversight

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Balance horse workload to prevent burnout and maintain long-term health.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Manage scheduling of horses for lessons, therapy sessions, and conditioning.

  • Support program growth by maintaining a strong herd and ensuring equine resources meet demand.

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Direct and lead volunteers assisting with program delivery, fostering a “respect-first” culture and promoting essential teamwork.

  • Actively participate in the recruitment, training, and development of horses, volunteers, and staff to support the program’s growth and quality standards.

  • Program Support and Operations

  • Maintain an energetic, professional, and flexible spirit, prepared to perform various horsemanship duties or student/family interactions at any time.

  • Perform required driving duties related to program operations.

  • Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience & Certification

  • <ul role=”list”>

  • Instructor Certification recognized by Inspiration Stables is strongly preferred. Candidates without current certification must be willing and able to achieve certification within six (6) months of hire.

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated professional experience working with horses, specifically in advanced-level riding or therapeutic/adaptive instruction capacity, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven ability to handle personnel concerns, logistics, or immediate challenges with urgency, professionalism, and effective problem-solving skills.

  • This is a physically demanding role requiring consistent physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, bending, lifting, reaching overhead, and physically assisting individuals across all age ranges (children through the elderly).

  • Must be willing and able to work in both outdoor and indoor arena environments.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be working near horses and animals and must be comfortable with the constant presence of allergens and dander.

  • Potential Compensation $40,000-$50,000
