    Program Facilitator

    Otra Mas Horse Rescue and Equine Assisted Services Organization is looking for a Program Facilitator to join our team.

    Job Description

    The Program Facilitator (PF) collaborates with the licensed therapist during Equine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions, facilitates Equine Assisted Learning sessions on their own to individual clients, or co-facilitates with another PF for groups. The PF will embrace the Otra Mas Way of conducting sessions and working with our horses both in and out of sessions. Additional duties include assisting with providing daily care and exercise for our herd including grooming, hand-walking, turn outs, and lunging, as well as directing and training volunteers. This position reports directly to the Program Director.

    Requirements

    • 2 – 3 years of experience in Equine Assisted Services working with clients of various ages

    • Current ESMHL certification (or equivalent) from PATH Intl., EAGALA, Natural Lifemanship or similar organizations

    • Must possess strong equine handling skills, knowledge of horse behavior & herd dynamics, and basic horse care & management

    • Enthusiasm to work with a variety of client populations & ages

    • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and volunteers

    • Be flexible and have the ability to think on your feet during sessions

    • Ability to document horse behaviors and client notes after sessions

    • Have the ability to work as a team and collaborate

    • Physical ability to work safely with our horses, walk on uneven surfaces, be on your feet, and lift up to 50 lbs in an outdoor setting and in various weather conditions

    • Certification in Equine Assisted Learning, such as PATH Intl. EALF-w/microcredential a plus, but not required.

    Hours: Part-time

    Pay: $22 – $25 based on qualifications and experience
